European Ethylene Producers Committee logo

Velogy is strengthening its role in European industry collaboration through its participation in the European Ethylene Producers Committee (EEPC), a long-standing platform focused on safety, health and environmental topics related to the production and handling of ethylene.

Olefins Expert Christian Barreau represents Velogy on the EEPC Main Committee since 1 May 2026 and on the Executive Committee since 25 June 2026. Several Velogy employees also contribute to EEPC working groups and issue groups, helping bring external insights and best practices back to our sites.

Founded in 1998, EEPC brings together ethylene producers and technology-related engineering companies to share non-confidential technical knowledge, support industry learning and help identify opportunities for continuous improvement. As the technical arm of the Lower Olefins Sector Group (LOSG), EEPC provides a valuable forum for cooperation with industry stakeholders, institutions and regulators.

Through working groups, issue groups, workshops and annual conferences, EEPC enables member companies to exchange learnings from safety, health and environmental incidents and contribute to a shared incident database. Recent focus areas have included auto-refrigeration and brittle fracture, furnace safety, reactive chemicals, turbo machinery safety, turnarounds of the future and safety strategies for intermittent operations.

The next EEPC HSE Conference will take place from 14 to 16 October 2026 in Budapest, Hungary.
