Who is responsible for your personal data?

Velogy acts as a data controller, meaning we determine how and why your personal data is processed.

The controller of your personal data is the Velogy entity with which you have a relationship or which offers products or services to you, depending on your country. For data processed through www.velogy.com, the controller is the relevant Velogy operating entity responsible for the website. What is personal data?

“Personal data” (or “personal information”) means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.

“Processing” means any operation performed on personal data, such as collection, use, storage, disclosure or deletion.

What personal data do we collect?

We only collect personal data that is relevant to your interaction with us. This may include:

  • Contact information: name, company, job title, email address, telephone number, country and city;
  • Communications: the content of messages or inquiries you submit to us;
  • Website and technical information: IP address, browser and device information and interaction data generated through your use of the website;
  • Marketing preferences, where applicable.

We do not intentionally collect special categories of personal data through the website.

How and why do we use your personal data?

We process personal data for the following main purposes:

Website forms and inquiries

When you submit a request through our website, we process your name, company, email address, phone number, country, city and the content of your message solely to handle and respond to your inquiry.

Access to this data is limited to authorized Velogy personnel and trusted service providers acting on our behalf (such as website hosting and IT support providers), all of whom are contractually bound to comply with applicable data protection laws.

Your inquiry data is retained only for as long as necessary to respond and for a reasonable follow‑up period, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

Google reCAPTCHA

To protect our website from spam and abuse, we use Google reCAPTCHA v3, provided by Google LLC. reCAPTCHA analyzes technical and interaction data (such as IP address, device and browser information and interaction patterns) to determine whether interactions are human.

Where required by law, reCAPTCHA is activated only after you provide consent via our cookie consent mechanism. Data may be transferred outside the European Economic Area, including to the United States, based on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

The processing is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Sharing and international transfers

We may share personal data with:

  • Velogy affiliates for internal business purposes;
  • service providers acting as processors on our behalf (e.g. IT and hosting providers);
  • authorities or third parties where required by law or to protect our legal rights.

Where personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with Articles 44–49 GDPR.

Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss or misuse. However, transmission of information over the internet is at your own risk.

Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, taking into account legal, regulatory and contractual requirements.

Your rights

  • request rectification or erasure;
  • restrict or object to processing;
  • request data portability, where applicable;
  • withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children

Our website is not directed at children under the applicable digital age of consent, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
