Description
The Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of production facilities. The role ensures that manufacturing processes run smoothly in accordance with legal requirements, internal procedures, and quality standards. The position includes both control room (panel) operation and field activities, as well as active contribution to plant safety and emergency response.
Responsibilities and accountability
Requirements and expertise
- Independently operate and monitor production systems from the control room and in the field in accordance with legal requirements and operating procedures
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve process deviations and technical malfunctions
- Safely start up and shut down plant sections and equipment
- Ensure production of products in line with defined quality specifications
- Prepare plant equipment for maintenance and inspection activities
- Ensure operational readiness of machinery, auxiliary systems, and technical equipment
- Perform regular plant inspections (e.g., detecting leaks, unusual noises, odors) and carry out cleaning activities
- Contribute to site safety by actively participating in safety routines and procedures
Personal skills
Education
- Successfully completed technical vocational training, preferably as a Chemical Technician (Chemikant) or in a comparable field.
Work experience
- Several years of experience as a plant operator in a chemical or industrial production environment
- Strong knowledge of plant operations and production processes
- Broad technical understanding of industrial equipment and systems
- Willingness to work in shift operations
