Description
The Payroll Assistant supports the preparation, processing and control of payroll for approximately 1,000 employees at the Berre site.
Working within the HR team and reporting to the Payroll Manager, the role contributes to payroll activities from the collection of payroll inputs through to the review of payroll results. The position also supports employee administration, payroll-related reporting and the reliability of HRIS data.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract in a changing organisational environment where accuracy, confidentiality, teamwork and the ability to manage monthly deadlines are essential.

Requirements and expertise
- Prepare and review payroll inputs for approximately 1,000 employees, including variable elements, hires, leavers and individual changes.
- Check the consistency of payslips and payroll reports, identify discrepancies and contribute to the necessary corrections before payroll closing.
- Perform post-payroll activities and ensure the reliability of data required for monthly deadlines.
- Handle employee administration activities impacting payroll in coordination with the HR team.
- Provide employees with clear and accurate answers to payroll-related questions.
- Support the monitoring of legal and collective bargaining developments relevant to payroll.
- Liaise with external organisations including health insurance, pension, provident and employee savings providers.
- Contribute to Group requests and internal or external audit activities in coordination with the Payroll Manager.
- Maintain payroll dashboards and HR reports using Excel and ensure the consistency of reported data.
- Work closely with HR, Finance and other site stakeholders to resolve payroll-related issues.
- Monitor the quality and reliability of data recorded in the HRIS and payroll system.
- Participate in HRIS developments and changes to payroll processes, particularly during organisational or scope changes.
- Contribute to the improvement of dashboards, reporting tools and payroll working procedures.
- Ensure strict confidentiality of all personal, payroll and sensitive employee data processed as part of payroll and employee administration activities.
Personal skills
Education
- Two- to three-year higher education qualification in Payroll Management, Human Resources Administration or a comparable field.
- Equivalent professional experience may also be considered.
Work experience
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience in payroll, ideally including responsibility for at least one complete monthly payroll cycle.
- Experience in employee administration would be an advantage.
- Practical knowledge of payroll processes and controls.
- Previous experience using payroll software and an HRIS.
- Experience working with recurring deadlines and significant volumes of employee data.
- Experience in an evolving or changing organisational environment would be beneficial.
